Normally I do quite a bit of liberal bashing on this diary, but a story on CNN.com is going to cause a slight change of pace today.
Two conservative Christian organizations are up in arms over video geared towards promoting tolerance which includes several famous cartoon characters (http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/20/sponge.bob.reut/index.html).
These people are going apeshit because they say that the video promotes acceptance of homosexuals. So, I have something to say to the extremist doucebags that give sane Republicans a bad name.

Homosexuals are a reality of modern existence. They are here to stay. They are not myths created by our media, they're real and they're not going away. If you can't accept that, then just shut the fuck up and keep to yourself. There isn't a cartoon in the world that is going to make your child gay, so quit your fucking psychotic whining. Do you people really have nothing better to do than to bitch about a fucking cartoon? Do you have any idea how many video games are out there that you could be playing right now?
An article written by Ed Vitagliano for the American Family Association states, "A short step beneath the surface reveals that one of the differences being celebrated [in the video] is homosexuality."

People are fucking sickening. I understand freedom of speech, so I guess people can be anti-gay if they want to, but I really don't see the point to it. Even if these Christian shitbags somehow managed to stop this video from being available to the public, what next? Are all gay Americans going to kill themselves from the unbearable shame of being homosexual? NO!!!! If people want to be gay, it's their business, and the Christians need to leave it the fuck alone. Their gay-bashing bullshit goes against everything this country stands for, and is a bit of a contradiction of Christian values at least as I understand them. Teach your kids to be upstanding citizens by drilling into their heads that gays are immoral and wrong? Yeah, you idiots are definitely on the right track.
You're no better than the terrorists around the world who want to destroy us simply for being American, and if given the chance I'd love to give you all a lesson on what American weapons can do to terrorists.
