So liberals claim to be anti-war, yet left-wing extremists in Europe have started a movement to "liberate Iraq", asking it's members contribute 10 Euros each to the Iraqi insurgency.
How exactly does contributing money to a militia that openly and regularly targets civilians promote peace?
Perhaps these people should actually go to Iraq and speak with the Iraqi people before deciding that America is an evil empire set on conquering the globe. After my year of service there dealing with the people every day, I know for a fact that all they want is to go buy a fucking carton of milk without being blown up. Is that really so much to ask?
Apparantly, the left-wing believes that as long as Americans are in the area, it is too much to ask.
I completely understand why liberals want America to pull out from Iraq. Nobody likes a war, even us "Republican war mongers". However, contributing funds to the insurgency will have the opposite effect that they want. If anything, this will cause our military to remain in Iraq longer.
And just for the record, I am not a Republican. I am an independent who happens to realize that the extreme left-wing is composed pretty much entirely of friggin douchebags. Not Democrats, left-wing extremists. There is a VERY big difference. I am just as much against the extreme right-wing idiots as I am liberals.
That said, what will it take for liberals to realize that they can not win? America is not going to run home with its tail between its legs because a few European stoners sacrificed their weekly hash money to pay for another Iraqi or Syrian to have an RPG?
During World War II, and pretty much every other "conventional" war that has ever been fought, destroying enemy supply lines was a vital strategy to achieve victory. We bombed railroads and factories on a regular basis, and it was very effective. Sometimes I wonder if the most effective way to end this war would be to bomb the piss out of France. Might not make the rest of the world happy, but it would cut of some of the funds going to terrorism. Besides, it's not like we'd really have to hurt anyone. Given France's history, all we'd have to do is set off a few firecrakers in Paris and they'd all throw up their arms and surrender.
For those of you who don't know, France is where this "liberate Iraq" movement has started, so I'm not just randomly picking on them just for fun. Although I have to admit, they are quite an amusing country to make fun of.
Someone should really remind them of the fact that had it not been for America, they'd be speaking German right now.
